Dr. Himanshu Rana

About

Dr. Himanshu Rana is dedicated to offering the most advanced treatments and techniques to his patients. He was the first doctor to successfully perform renal denervation therapy (RDN) in Uttarakhand.

He is highly skilled in specific procedures, including Conduction System Pacing (such as Left Bundle Branch Pacing), CRT device implantation, and Combo-device implantation. He has implanted pacemakers in many elderly patients, including those over 90 years old.

He shows great skill in complex angioplasty and stenting. This includes difficult CHIP cases and CTO cases. Dr. Rana possesses a clear understanding and effective use of Intravascular Imaging (IVUS/OCT), including the physiological assessment of coronary arteries. He is also an expert in advanced angioplasty techniques like Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL), Rotablation, and Orbital Atherectomy.

Dr. Rana has significant experience in Structural Heart Disease. He regularly performs interventions such as Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), device closures for holes in the heart, and balloon valve dilations. He performed TAVR on the oldest patient (over 90 years old) in Uttarakhand.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Rana is actively involved in research. He conducted a large population-based study of heart failure that surveyed 20,000 people at the community level. He has presented his work as papers and posters at various national and international conferences.

Dr. Rana places great importance on continuing professional development. He regularly organises workshops and symposiums to share and gain knowledge and expertise in the field of Cardiology. He is also committed to educational activities, often organising workshops, CMEs (Continuing Medical Education), and expert panel discussions across different platforms.
